What is a PDF Summarizer?

A PDF summarizer reads a document and gives you the core points, structure, and action items in plain language. Upload a research paper, a contract, a textbook chapter, or a 200-page filing. You get the summary plus a chat panel where you can ask follow-up questions, with every answer linked back to the page in the source.

Most PDF summarizers paywall the actual summary or hide it behind credits. This one does not. 15 free summaries per day with full output, page citations, multi-document compare, and 30+ output languages. Built for students, researchers, lawyers, and analysts who read for a living.

How It Works

1

Upload your PDF

Drop a PDF up to 10 MB. Or paste a URL. Research papers, contracts, textbooks, manuals, anything.

2

Pick a domain template

Research, Legal, Financial, Medical, Textbook, or General. The output structure adapts to the document type.

3

Read, ask, export

Get the summary plus a chat panel for follow-ups. Click any claim to jump to its page in the source. Export to Notion, Anki, or Markdown.

Features

Page-anchored citations

Every claim links back to the exact page in the source PDF. Click and verify in one tap.

Chat with your PDF

Ask follow-up questions in plain English. Answers are grounded in the document with cited page numbers.

Multi-document compare

Upload two contracts, papers, or proposals side by side. See clause-level differences in a clean diff view.

Domain templates

Research, legal, financial, medical, and textbook modes. Each restructures the output for that document type.

Tables, equations, charts read

Vision pass over images and tables so chart trends and equations are summarized correctly, not skipped.

30+ output languages

Translate the summary while keeping page citations clickable to the original PDF.

Auto-deleted after summary

Files are processed in memory and removed after the summary is generated. Nothing stored, nothing trained on.

Export everywhere

One click to Notion, Obsidian, Anki flashcards, Markdown, or Word. No copy-paste between tools.

Why Use Our PDF Summarizer?

Read 100-page docs in 5 minutes

Get the core argument, key data, and action items before you commit to reading the full thing.

Trust every claim

Every sentence in the summary cites the page it came from. No more wondering if the AI made it up.

Private by default

We do not keep your PDFs and we do not use them to train AI. Sensitive contracts and medical records are safe here.

Built for daily use

Free tier of 15 summaries per day, full features included. No surprise charges, no hidden caps.

Who Is This For?

Students

Skim 50 papers in an afternoon. Pull citations, methods, and findings into your literature review with page anchors.

Lawyers

How the Summarizer Reads Your PDF

Text and structure extraction

We pull the text out of your PDF page by page, preserving the structure (headings, lists, tables, footnotes). Scanned PDFs go through OCR first. Equations are kept in LaTeX. Tables are kept as tables, not flattened to plain text.

Domain-aware summarization

Pick a template (research, legal, financial, medical, textbook, or general) and the AI restructures the output for that document type. A research paper gets Methods, Results, Discussion. A contract gets parties, obligations, dates, and governing law. Generic dump avoided.

Page anchors for trust

Every sentence in the summary is tied to a page number in the source. Click a sentence and the PDF viewer jumps to that page with the supporting text highlighted. If the AI invented a claim, you would catch it immediately. This is the anti-hallucination loop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this PDF summarizer free?
Yes. 15 free summaries per day with no signup. You get the full step-by-step output every time, not just the answer. Most competitors paywall the actual summary at this tier.
What is the maximum PDF size and page count?
Free users can upload PDFs up to 10 MB and around 200 pages. Pro users get up to 50 MB and 2,000 pages. Anything larger gets chunked automatically.
Does the PDF summarizer work with scanned documents?
Yes. If the PDF is image-based or scanned, we run OCR first to pull the text out. Quality depends on scan clarity. Clean scans work great. Phone photos of receipts work less well.
Can I chat with my PDF after summarizing?
Yes. Every summary opens a chat panel. Ask follow-up questions and get answers tied to specific pages in the source. Every claim links back to the page where it appears.
Are my uploaded PDFs private?
Yes. Files are processed in memory and deleted immediately after the summary is generated. Nothing is stored long-term. Nothing is used to train AI. The session expires on close.
Does it handle research papers, contracts, and textbooks?
Yes. Pick a domain template (research, legal, financial, medical, textbook) and the summarizer adjusts its structure. Research papers get Methods/Results/Discussion sections. Contracts get parties, obligations, dates, and governing law surfaced.
Can I summarize multiple PDFs at once?
Single PDF on the free tier. Pro unlocks batch upload up to 10 PDFs and a compare mode that shows side-by-side differences between two documents.
What languages does the PDF summarizer support?
Input in any language the source PDF is written in. Output in 30+ languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Hindi, and Portuguese. Citations stay clickable to the original PDF in any language.
Can I export the summary to Notion, Obsidian, or Anki?
Yes. One-click export buttons send the summary to Notion, Obsidian, plain Markdown, Word, or Anki flashcards. No copy-paste needed.
How accurate is the summary?
Every claim in the summary links back to the page it came from. If you doubt a sentence, click and verify in the source. We surface confidence per section so you know where to double-check.
