What is the Screenshot Beautifier?

A screenshot beautifier wraps your raw screenshot in a styled background, optional window chrome, drop shadow, and rounded corners. Output is a clean PNG ready for social media, blog posts, presentation slides, or marketing landing pages. Most beautifiers (Ray.so, CleanShot) ship paid tiers; we render everything in your browser at no cost.

Eight gradient presets, custom colors and angles, three window frame styles (macOS, browser with address bar, code editor), padding and corner radius sliders, optional watermark. All client-side via Canvas API. Your screenshots stay on your laptop.

How it works

Step 1
Drop your screenshot
Any PNG, JPEG, or WebP. The original sits at full resolution in the background.
Step 2
Style it
Pick background, window frame, padding, corner radius, shadow. Live preview updates as you tweak.
Step 3
Download
PNG output with all your styling baked in. Drop into Twitter, blog, slide deck.

Why this beautifier

Free, no signup

Ray.so is free for basics but paid for advanced styling. We ship everything free.

3 frame styles

macOS, browser, code editor. Match the visual context to what you're showing.

Browser-only

Screenshots often contain sensitive UI, tokens, customer data. We never see them. CleanShot uploads to their server.

No watermark

Free tools usually slap their logo on the output. We don't unless you add one yourself.

Who uses it

Social media managers
Twitter posts of product launches, before-after comparisons, demo screenshots.
Founders / PMs
Demo videos and screenshots for investor decks, partner emails.
Mobile devs
App store screenshots with marketing-grade backgrounds.
Course creators
Tutorial screenshots that look polished, not dumped from a screen capture tool.

Real use cases

Frequently asked questions

Is the screenshot beautifier free?

Yes. Unlimited use, no signup, no watermark unless you add one. Ray.so and CleanShot ship paid tiers; we run all the rendering in your browser at no cost.

What background options are there?

Eight gradient presets (purple, blue, emerald, orange, indigo, slate, warm, ocean) plus solid color picker plus custom gradient with from/to colors and angle. Match your brand or pick a vibe.

What window frames are supported?

None, macOS-style (traffic light dots), browser (with address bar), and code editor (dark background with filename). Pick the one that matches what you're showing.

Can I add a watermark?

Yes, optional. Type any text and it appears bottom-right at 50% opacity. Useful for personal branding or attribution.

What output format do I get?

PNG. Lossless, supports transparency, works everywhere. The file size is reasonable for typical screenshots (200-800KB depending on size).

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. The whole tool runs in your browser via Canvas API. Your screenshots stay local. CleanShot uploads to their servers; we don't have any servers to upload to.

What padding should I use?

30-60px for desktop screenshots. Less feels cramped, more wastes screen space when shared. Mobile screenshots can use less (15-30px) since they're typically tall and thin.

Should I round the corners?

Yes, 8-16px is standard. Matches modern macOS / iOS aesthetic. Setting to 0 makes the screenshot look more technical / engineering-friendly. Pick based on audience.

What's the shadow size for?

Drop shadow under the screenshot to lift it visually off the background. 20-40px looks natural; over 60px starts looking artificial.

Can I beautify multiple screenshots at once?

Not yet. Current version is one-at-a-time. For batch processing, save your settings and just swap the source image.
